Hungarian Social Forums comment: The new Charter of Constitution of Hungary is violating Human and Social rights

In an immediate reaction to the approval on Monday of the new Charter of Constitution by the ruling majority of the Hungarian National Assembly, the Hungarian Social Forum-Social Roundtable organizer has declared, that the document was violating fundamental Human, Minority and Social Rights by omiting them. Because of that the new Constitution will be a target of resistance in Hungary and in the international Communities which Hungary is member. The most relevant critics to the Charter regard the lack of the Rights to Live, Peace, Justice. Charter is omiting the Rights to Job and Existence. The Housing Right, useful living standards to welfare and Right to personal security are also omited. Hungarian State could be not called to account in the future for the lacking rights. Minority Rights, like as the right to language and own culture are subordinated, and the equality of rights of different sexes are denied. The rewrited institutional system of Hungary will restrict the area of intervention of such control organisms like as the Court of Constitution, at the same time the executive power will be strenghtened. Power balance will drop to the executive powers – Simó told. In Hungary new demonstrations are expected against the new law of Constitution.  Some social organisations appealed the President of the Republic waited to sign the law on Easter, as „symbol of hungarian resurrection” not to sign, but return it to the Parliament and ask for a overall Social consultation. In a message sent to HSF-SR a civic organisation of young people has assessed: „there is no answer in the new Constitution to the living problems of common people”. +++
