In Hungary a protest march against Poverty and neoliberalism has taken place on Sunday. Some hundreds of people have demanded a new social policy at the interest of the working majority, the end of the social cuts and dign wages instead of small pittances. About 6 million of people, 60 pc of the population of this Central European country is living around social minimum existance levels. One of the main demands was the Right to National Development of the country, which economy is dominated with 80 pc by the transnational corporations. Representatives of about 30 social organisations, trade unions and ideologically very different political groups have marched in the centre of Budapest from Szabadság square to Kossuth square crying „Job, bread, dign wage, life instead of beggaries”. The march was organized by the Hungarian Social Forum and the Home Defenders acting against the evictions. No participation of Attac nor of the so called hungarian united left. Very good press coverage permitting to send our social message to millions of people in Hungary.
